The new battle royale mode lets gamers compete against up to 64 players from around the world, and it’s a great new variation of the strategic gameplay that didn’t change much since the first Bomberman game from 1985 on the Nintendo NES. Super Bomberman R Online became free-to-play on Google Stadia back in December, and we hope the upcoming versions for consoles and PC will also be free-to-play. Microsoft offered Super Bomberman R to Xbox Live Gold subscribers back in February 2019, and the action-maze game includes unlockable Halo characters such as Master Chief and The Arbiter, though it has definitely lost steam since its 2018 release.
